The Day Quilt
48 x 65"
this quilt is lovingly called the “day quilt” because the dyeing, hand stitching and finishing took a total of 24 hours, give or take a few (ahem, give a few). The quilt top is pieced of linen that has been dipped in indigo multiple times. A piece of single dip-dyed linen encases the natural cotton batting. The layers are held together by hand-stitched 100% cotton thread. White thread on indigo dyed linen is a traditional Japanese style of quilting called Sashiko 刺し子.
