my year at home quilt
49.5” x 65”
The quilt top is pieced of mulitple pieces of linen that have been dipped in indigo multiple times. I have also used a natural black dye that took weeks to build up color on. A piece of single dip-dyed linen encases the natural cotton batting. The layers are held together by hand-stitched 100% cotton thread. White thread on indigo dyed linen is a traditional Japanese style of quilting called Sashiko 刺し子.
